Agronomy

Our team of expert agronomists are committed to providing valuable direction, oversight and accurate crop management for both Altora Ag and external clients. Detailed advice is provided through a sound understanding of the complex processes and interactions that help drive production. Our agronomy team work closely with input businesses to deliver results through on-farm trials to ensure product knowledge and utilisation is maintained for optimum results and assessment. Chemical

Since 2019, Altora Ag has positioned itself as a local retail provider of input products to Altora Ag farming business, consultancy clients and farming public. As a member of the National Rural Independents (NRI), Altora Ag leverages the quality inputs available in conjunction with detailed agronomic services to ensure maximum efficacy and availability of products. In 2024, Altora Ag further expanded the service offering through the development of the Ballarat mechandising hub supplying the regional client base and rural farming operations. Farming

The expansion of Altora Ag's farming portfolio has strategically diversified across Australia to mitigate risk and enabled operational efficiencies and maximum utilisation to be realised. With the merger of the BFB and Daybreak Cropping portfolios, the business now consists of 69 properties spanning across four states with the arable land area under management totalling over 177,870 ha. Predominantly dryland cropping of winter cereals, pulses and oilseeds is carried out with oppotunistic irrigation farming available. View our property details here


Fertiliser

Nutrition is key to producing high quality crops and our ability to deliver high quality products across the region when our customers need it most has been developed and refined since carting first commenced in 1988. Grain Storage

Altora Ag and Cargill Australia operate the Joint Venture site at Temora with storage capacity of over 450,000 tonnes. Over the years, we have refined our handling processes and increased and improved our storage capabilities to offer efficient services at competitive prices throughout the year. The JV operates as a closed site so please contact us to discuss access and services arrangements.

Piggery

Understanding synergies has allowed Altora Ag to diversify operations and accommodate an on-site piggery at the Moore Park property. Stock is provided fresh, quality bedding sourced from the farming operation whilst thorough waste management strategies of effluent byproduct is used to improve soil fertility across the Altora Ag properties within the Riverina region. Utilising our logistics capability, livestock movement is managed in accordance with guidelines to ensure the wellbeing of stock is maintained.
